PTAs from across the country received the PTA Unit Achievement Award. Our PTSA showed that we promote greater parent involvement, engage more and more families in the school, drive student achievement, and make PTSA an even stronger voice for children. This award demonstrates the shining example of what dedicated PTSA members can accomplish when focused on the organization's mission and values. Of the 339 PTAs across the country, only three schools in Arizona received this award. This is a proud accomplishment for our entire school.
Congratulations Mrs. Salameh Paseo Hills PTSA is one of 20 Arizona PTAs receiving $1,000 grants for its literacy activities from McDonald’s Readers Are Leaders Award program. The grant program provides funding for the books and reading materials for school libraries to enhance book collections. The grant money will go towards “Fact Finders,” a program in which students use library resources to complete fact finder cards. The Readers are Leaders grant money will be used to purchase sports books and athlete biographies to enable more students to practice reading, understanding and evaluating informational text. “We are proud to support literacy in our local schools,” said Wayne Stingley, Phoenix McDonald’s owner. “Our restaurants are committed to the communities we serve, and investing in education is a top priority. Congratulations Mrs. Salameh for your hard work in writing this grant.
