Paseo Hills PTSA Goals & Programs

Parent & Community Involvement

Paseo Hills PTSA is committed to raising the level of education by establishing a close relationship between

home and school by encouraging opportunities for all parents and extended family to become involved with

children's education.

We have developed many activities and programs to try to meet the needs of all families.

FANG Nights (Family Activities ‘N Gatherings)

These admission free family nights are held five times each year.  There is no charge for any of the games, activities, or prizes at these events.  The only cost would be if you choose to purchase refreshments sold by our teachers, who in turn use those proceeds to purchase items for their classrooms.  Some examples of FANG Nights are Bingo, Sock Hop, Decades Dance and a Family Fitness Fun Night. Please note - students must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult to attend these events.

Fang’s Fall Festival

This school wide event is truly a celebration of students, families, and community.  Held on a Saturday evening, our campus comes alive with games, prizes, music, raffles, and much excitement.  Teachers and staff run our games booths and put together raffle baskets with their class to raise money for their classrooms.  You won’t want to miss this celebration!

Take Your Family to School Week

This special week is designed to connect families with their children’s school experiences and to build positive partnerships between teachers and parents.  Events during this week may include an outdoor barbecue lunch, breakfast in the media center, or a FANG Night.  This is a National PTA event that also celebrates PTA’s Founders Day of February 17.

Parent Lending Library

This adult library, opened in the spring of 2007, offers parents of Paseo Hills students a convenient place to check out books on all types of parenting issues. Topics include ADHD, Autism, parenting a gifted child, Love & Logic, helping with homework, behavior and discipline, bonding with stepchildren, communicating with your teenager, nutrition, sexuality, single parenting, step parenting as well as many other parent relevant topics.  New books are added on a continual basis.  Please stop by the Media Center to visit this new addition.

Volunteering

We want all parents and family members to feel welcome and valued at Paseo Hills.  There are many opportunities to volunteer around our campus.  A Volunteer Form will be sent home with your child to help us understand the areas in which you feel most comfortable volunteering.  If you would like to volunteer, fill out the form and send it back to your child’s teacher.  Our Volunteer Coordinator will contact you when a volunteer opportunity arises that meets your preferences.

Presidential Service Award Program

Paseo Hills PTSA is a Certifying Organization for the Presidential Service Award program.  All volunteering for any non-profit organization qualifies for the hours needed to earn either a Bronze, Silver or Gold pin.  Start keeping track of your volunteer hours now. Volunteering at PTSA events, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts service projects, church volunteering, American Heart Association volunteering, or walking for cancer all qualify.  Flyers about this program will be sent home with students in early spring.  You can also find out more about this program at www.presidentialserviceawards.gov
